About the Artist

Stephanie Thayer was born and raised in Davis, CA. She graduated from UC Davis and is currently a paraeducator in the Davis Joint Unified School District. Stephanie has always wanted to volunteer for Visions Global Empowerment but hasn't been able to go on any of the summer trips in the past, so she thought sewing a quilt made of recycled saris would be a great way to contribute to the amazing organization.

Stephanie loves to sew, as well as paint, draw, hike, travel, learn different languages and DANCE! Stephanie studied Bharatanatyam under Venita Sivamani (Visions board member) and Khurshid Dastur and loves other genres of dance such as salsa, hip hop, flamenco, cumbia, bachata, and folk dancing. Stephanie sincerely hopes you enjoy this quilt as much as she enjoyed making it, and hopes that together we can make a difference in the lives of women and children worldwide.
